Semblanza Defeats Males to Win the Copa Día de la Raza
The mare Semblanza, ridden by Victor Severino, easily won the 5th race of the October 17th card at the Hipódromo V Centenario, giving his connections a victory in the Copa Día de la Raza, with a purse of RD$134,000.00. After the start Incomunicato of the Establo San Antonio Stable, took advantage of his excellent post position, took control of the event and kept widening his lead, while El Campeón running second fought to maintain his position with the rest of the field far behind. Semblanza gradually improved her position until taking over in the stretch, stopping the clock in 1:25 1/5 for the 1,400 meter event. After the race Felipe Báez, Operations Manager of the Hipódromo V Centenario, handed the trophy and the replicas to the owner Osiris Bautista, the breeder, Ángel Contreras, the trainer Cleve O. Fashionista Secures Victory for RSA in the 1st Copa Angel Contreras Mejia
In a race that was highlighted by a near accident, where the overwhelming favorite Golden Boy (bred and owned by RSA) bolted dangerously towards the outer rail, his entry mate Fashionista, ridden by Victor Severino, won the third race of the October 10th races at the Hipódromo V Centenario, to win for the RSA connections the 1st Copa Ángel Contreras Mejía (founder and co-owner of RSA), presented by Rancho San Antonio. After easily setting fractions of 23 flat for the first furlong, Golden Boy violently bolted towards the outer rail which allowed Fashionista to take over the competition. The final time was 1:25 4/5 for the 1400 meter event. After the race the trophy ceremony began and Roberto Payano, president of the Federación Nacional de Dueños de Caballos de Carreras Inc. presented Dr. Angel Contreras Mejia with a commemorative plaque.

The 2yo filly was bred and is owned by Dres. Ángel R. y Ángel B. Contreras and runs in the colors of their Establo San Antonio and is trained by Eugenio Deschamps and Juan Jimenez.
